Claire is yet another one of my youth group girls. So again, this shoot was more like hanging out with a little sister. She can most often be found somewhere in downtown Carlisle. Some of her most special high school memories have taken place here, specifically at Helena's. They even knew her by name there.  Isn't that the dream?! To be a regular at a cute cafe downtown? .....Just me? Cool.

Really could photograph these two behind a gas station with a dumpster and it would be beautiful because of their beautiful hearts but this view sure doesn’t hurt.

Realize I just posted a pic of me holding Judah BUT he came to a shoot with me in Philly today all thanks to my mom driving a round trip of wayyy too many hours to make it happen [the exact amount I’ll never tell you because you’ll think I’m a brat for making her do it.] Trying to be as selfless & generous of a mom as her each day but it’s hard to even come close. Also, my roots. Let’s talk about it. Tell me your fave places (in the carlisle, mechanicsburg, lanc areas) to get your hair cut & colored because you better believe I’m running there the second I wrap up this season.
Some days with my J baby are really easy and good. He truly is the happiest, sweetest bug. But some days with him are really hard, like it is for every parent ever. One day last week with my little man was a tough one and then @briannawilburphoto sent me these beautiful film images and, WOW it was such a gift. These pics remind me that the days are long and hard sometimes, but man, this little guy has changed my heart and showed me so much new love. That’s why family pics are SO IMPORTANT. Get them taken. Preferably by @briannawilburphoto. Not because you’re in a flower field with good light in a lace dress and actually showered that day. But because some days you’ll need to look back on them to show the depth of how the Lord’s been so faithful.
Been chatting with some friends about a closet sale for months and now we finally gotta do this before it gets too cold! We’ll be selling some clothes (S-L) THIS FRIDAY 11/2. I’ve never heard of more awful things happening in a month. Heartbreak that’s happening to people close to me, hurts happening in communities around me, and friends of friends experiencing deep pain. People I know closely & people I’ve never met. I’ve received more texts asking for prayer and met with more hurting souls than I think I have ever before. My heart just hurts. And I keep thinking if this is happening in my little world, this is happening to so many others. So many other hurting hearts. In the middle of all of it @anniefdowns released her new book, where she says asks, “is God kind?” He’s powerful, big, & loving, yes. But is he kind? This past month has showed me more than ever before that sometimes it’s really hard to reconcile what’s happening in this world with who God says he is. But it’s also shown me the depth of his kindness at the very same time. That He really is who he says he is. I preordered 2 books - one for me & one for my @anniefdowns obsessed friend. We won’t name names, ahem, @amyschunie but of course, she already ordered one (should’ve known) and now I have 2. If you’re having a hard time believing that, I’d love to mail you my second copy. Maybe you need to remember that God really is in fact kind. Maybe you need to meet Him as that for the first time ever. Either way, DM me your address & tell me how I can be praying for you. I’ll send it to ya and pray over you.
