You know those sessions that remind you why you do it, photographers? This was one of them.
It had something to do with the way Maddie got creative with her shoot— from the personalized locations to her hat & vintage film camera. But even more than that, it was her person. Maddie’s got a rare heart. Spend not even 10 minutes with her and you’ll see right away this girl loves people & loves Jesus.
May or may not be scheming up a new business plan to make ALL THE SENIORS happen next summer. They've had my heart for a while now and this session sealed the deal.
Meet my friend, Maddie
Laurel! As sweet as they come.
I really love seniors. But I really love THIS senior.
Some of you know I've been helping out in youth ministry for almost 4 years now. On my very first night of it ever the whole group went to SkyZone. I was terrified to not know anyone & couldn't get over how awkward it would be to literally have to bounce up to strangers and introduce myself. But I did it. I saw three girls together and bounced on over. It was just as awkward as I thought it would be. I hated it. I came home saying "THERE'S NO WAY I CAN DO THIS" to Luke.
During this shoot Auraleigh told me she was one of those girls! Praise the LAMB she didn't hold me to that awkward bounce over and that Jesus changed my heart & dragged me out of my comfort zone. If not, I wouldn't have met Auraleigh. She's taught me so much about full life and who Jesus is.
Believe me when I say there hasn't been and never will be a more joyful, giddy couple. Sydney and Jadon have dated for 6 years and were more than excited to finally call each other husband + wife. From the perfectly coordinating bridesmaid's dresses to the worship filled ceremony, this wedding will forever be one of my favorites. I know Jesus more today because of the joy and love this couple showed all day long. I'm so, so thankful to be a part of this day and know these people.
You are truly some of my most favorite people to photograph. Your energy. Your passion. Your joy. I just love it.
You’re entering into a time that is a little bit terrifying, kind of bittersweet, but mostly just downright exciting. This season is about the ending of a chapter + the start of something brand new all at once, and I want to be a part of it. I want to share in this time with you + celebrate who are are, where you’re at right now, and where you’re going. And I want to create images that you'll look back on someday that remind you where it all started.
I gotta be honest -- I lost sight of you last year. I got a late start and then got overwhelmed with my first full time wedding season. I missed you, and I didn't want the same thing to happen this year. So I've spent a lot of time thinking of what I want the senior section of my business to look like.
I want to take your pictures, yes, but I want to be more than that. I genuinely want to hear your story, listen to what sets your soul on fire, and know your soul behind that pretty face.
We'll get the posey, smiling right at the camera pictures (don't worry, mom!), but we'll also work together to create images that reflect who you are -- your personality, your style, your interests, & your heart.
If this is something that you want to be a part of too, I'd love to hear from you! Fill out the 2019 Senior form under the Contact tab so I can learn more about you! I'm excited to hear from you!
Kenz is one of those people I know Jesus put into my life for a reason but in the most random way. She was a bridesmaid in a wedding I second shot in the summer of 2016 and has been someone who has such a dear place in my heart ever since despite the fact that I've only met her 3 times in person. She's the kind of person you meet and you feel like you've known for years. The kind of person who will text you telling you she's praying for you. The kind of person that gives you a glimpse of how Jesus loves.
Kenz, you've got a heart of gold.
This time last year she and her guy came over to my house and we did a little in home session and today's weather reminded me of this day so I randomly decided to share it with you! Enjoy!
Hands down best first look I've ever seen (probably put way too many photos in this blog post of it, so sorry).
Hands down best hair I've ever seen on a couple.
Will + Ket have hearts that have no end & I'm so thankful to know such genuine, compassionate souls.
This was the first full week Luke and I've been alone since our honeymoon.
The first vacation Luke's taken in 2 years.
& the first trip as a family of THREE (there's a little 15 weeker in there).
You'll never know how much this trip will forever mean to me and pictures & a video (??!?!?!!) will never do it justice, but I hope you enjoy a little glimpse into our trip.
Okay, SO. Before you watch this, hear me out. I'm NOT a videographer. This was literally the first time I've shot in video mode on my camera, so most of it is out of focus. But this video is close to my heart and gives another dimension of life to our trip!
A mom that poured her heart into every single detail of this wedding.
A maid of honor speech that left everyone in tears.
A sweet dance with each of her brothers.
A long time love story.
This wedding was a good one to close out my 2017 season. Thankful for all of it.
